In this masterclass, Julian Anthony breaks down a practical workflow for turning vinyl into reliable DJ tools and reusable production material. You’ll cover how he selects sample-worthy moments on records, plus cleaning routines that prevent skips and noisy playback, from quick club-ready fixes to deeper restoration methods.

You’ll also learn simple systems to keep a collection tour-safe and easy to navigate, including sleeves, packing tips, and colour-coding records by genre and energy/time-slot. From there, you’ll digitize and lightly remaster vinyl for club use: recording in Audacity, exporting in compatible formats, adding metadata for CDJ playback, reducing crackle with iZotope RX, and doing quick polish in Ableton (EQ/limiting). The course finishes with building an organized sample bank from your rips, including basic slicing, stem separation for isolating elements, and folder structures you’ll actually reuse.
